This is a cheap, but adequate temporary housing establishment, with three buildings. Most units are studios, which are very much like motel room-efficiencies. The walls are painted cinder block. Some units are updated for semi-modern appeal, and others bear allegiance to the 70's or 80's. Cooking is gas, heating/cooling is swamp cooler. The carpet is generally some hue of pukish. You'll probably not "enjoy" your time here, but would find it decent and cheap, at around $450/ mo. (for studio.) Neighbors vary in friendliness but often some cool types move in. There is security at night. My only recommendation is that you avoid building "D," (as in drugs, drinking and debauchery.) if you live here.

  • Tanoan Community , ergo23 (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
Ok you must have money invested in High Desert Ian or lost money on Tanoan. Both places have there downsides. Both have insane street layouts, poorly marked steet name changes. High Desert does have better views of the city.

This still has some National Guard uses. on the east end of is a low income housing units. on the North side a 10 level apartment complex towers west and east. Two sets of gates to get in the complex first in a car than on foot in a lobby.

  • Cafeteria, Proxymom (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
I attended AJCC in 80 and 81 and this place really is haunted. There is ALOT more going on than the nun with a baby. The cafeteria is in a new building and new place since then, but the hauntings are DEFINITLY NOT new!!!! If anybody cares to check it out, the AJCC rule book got a new addition stating that OUIJA boards are not permitted on campus at the time I was there. There were very good and shocking and TRUE reasons for this. I would LOVE to compare notes with current or recent alumni in this matter! proxymomm atyahoo dotcom put job corps in subject line.

One day I predicted I would see TJ Sheppard in concert and a few years later I did. Since I saw him in concert I think thats one of the reasons my dream Presidental candidate might get elected.

Didn't want to add this in the description because I don't have any 100% facts on this, but supposedly this used to be an orphanage, and there is rumors of it being haunted by a nun seen around the cafeteria. I went here from 03-04 and can't prove that :)
